My 485 had soft LUD on 2/27/09. Although, my husband's dependent application dint have one.
My PD is May'06 EB2 -I and got a soft lud on 2/27/09 for me/wifey case.
This makes me think that, USCIS is probably pulling all the cases systematically based on PD.

Hi Friends, I went to DMV PA (Bridgevile) to renew my drivers license recently. They are not accepting original EAD/ AP, copy of 485 receipt plus employer letter. They are asking for original 485 receipt. Unfortunately my ex-employer did not give the original receipt.
Did any body renew the PA DL without original 485 receipt?

Guys as it states both you and your spouse need to have an SSN not ITIN.
So if one has ssn other has ITIN you are not qualified.
The stimulus package is $600 for each member who has an SSN. Therefore if both you and your wife had an SSN you would get $1200. In the case where one spouse has an ITIN, the remaining spouse still is eligible for the $600. As mentioned in this post earlier you can always file 1040X one you receive the SSN for your spouse and claim the additional $600.

- Had Labor + 140 approved in Dec, 99.
- tricked and lured by start-up in silicon valley. Abandoned everything and came to California in Jan, 2000 made the deadly mistake of not taking the copy of approved I-140 (I still slap myself every morning for that mistake ;) )
- Found out they have only one customer
- Founder wasted own 20 Million dollars but never increased the tally for the customer from 1
- "Startup" went under in 2002.
- Joined new company (the only customer of start-up) and filed labor in March, 2003 and enjoying every minute of it... :)

I am very intrigued by this thread and I would love to see a change in status quo too. However, I am missing one very important piece of information....Who are the proposed candidates and what is their agenda??
Mbawa, please don't take this as criticism but how exactly would a change in the IV core improve the current status quo? If you have any ideas, what has stopped you from using IV as a platform and taking a lead?
Again, I would love to see things improving for the EB folks but I really missing the point on how this suggestion would get us there. I have great respect for the IV core as I know it and personally I will never be able to do even 10% of the job they have done. SO if there are folks who can do better than the present core, I would love to hear their ideas and contribute to the cause.
If this is just one of the several threads that are started with no real effort or thought put in to come up with an actual and feasible solution, then this is doing more harm than good. Again I am really open to listening like a lot other silent/passive members.

This is not a transparent organisation, we do not know who the president or the exec committee of this organisation is. Every now and then, we hear about stating the facts in our profile before posting questions.
But we know very little about the exec committee, the 'About us' has the agenda that IV is fightin for, nothing at all about the people behind it.
Who do i thank for such a nice organisation? I have no idea.
coming to the nomination for the exec commitee, there are lots of self motivated people around here, motivation can come from people languishing with unjust RFEs, name check limbos, 10 year old petitions, members who know they can add to the organisation, and the core, they would know people who they think are capable of carrying the torch on with equal or more zest.

Until 2003 end most the people have filed 485. It all started when the cases were moved to BEC. Most of the cases were from 2004 and some from 2003/2/1/0. But eventually BEC cleared and some applied before 2005 Jan. So the dates moving forward for EB-3 India in next few months would be little by little roughly as below.
OCT 2007 - USCIS will start from 2003 Jun
NOV 2007 Dec 2003
DEC 2007 Mar 2004
JAN 2008 Jun 2004
Once it reaches Mar 2005, it is going to stop for long time. I have no idea on the mess created by USCIS, but it is going to be tough for immigrants, especially from India.

Often times, the customer service representatives don't have up-to-date information of USCIS's policies, decisions, and announcements, and we should not take their response as granted. For example, If you call a service center 5 times a day and ask a same question, you will get five different answers. In fact, Srikondoji mentioned what he had heard from NSC customer service staff. So, we can't blame either Srikondoji or customer service staff, but only USCIS.:)

You would think that USCIS is effecient and well managed, but the fact of the matter is that they are not.
If you think about what happened in last one month , it points out that things are in pretty bad shape untill take notice by affected people like us.
Well, if you do the direct calculations (eventhough it looks correct for most of us), it always results scary.
But that does not happen always. A Government Agency decided to accept that many applications in a month window, defintely it would not have been decided in a lunch or dinner meeting.
They should have known their limitations and how to handle the situation. If there are 20K 485 applications sitting at the storage, it would not create much problems. But it creates so much administration issues if the number is 600K applications.
One major issue is, every year they are going to receive 600K EAD renewals. They will never get time to work on 485, but life long working on renewing this EAD's and no more further GC processing.
So, its not going to be the case. Now they have money, even if it takes first year some more months, they may go for hiring more contracters OR spliting the applications across different centers processing them.
Its a big administration issue to the agency to keep all the applications pending than us.
So, no worries. There must be a solution ahead for us.
